Funerals
I have piped at Mason's funerals and am aware of the ceremony. I have marched 1.5 miles, uphill, on a
gravel and dirt road in the North Georgia Mountains preceding the departed's horse and mourners.
For a funeral I can play outside the church or inside, depending on the building's acoustics. I can also play
off in the distance as a tribute in any service of remembrance. .
After the service concludes, I can then pipe as the the coffin is taken away by the hearse.
At the grave site I can play during the lowering of the casket into the grave or as the Minister finishes the service.
I can then continue playing as the mourners depart or take up "station" at the grave as it is filled. Another option
is to have me circle the gravesite, then walk away slowly into the distance.
